Water For 1 is an organization born out of a deep passion to confront one of the world’s largest challenges: the lack of access to clean water. While this crisis may seem overwhelming, we believe in our collective ability to make a difference.

We believe in the power of individuals coming together to help one another, proving that people can indeed make a positive impact on people's lives. Access to clean water means education, income and health - especially for women and kids. We believe in people!

703 million people don't have access to clean water.
That’s nearly 1 in 10 people! Clean water is a human need and a crucial element of public health and overall well-being. The absence of clean water can result in severe health challenges, including waterborne diseases, malnutrition, and even loss of life.

200 million hours...
Each day, women and girls across the globe spend approximately 200 million hours in the task of fetching water. Clean water not only addresses a fundamental human necessity but also has profound ripple effects within communities. It liberates valuable time that can be redirected towards growing food, generating income, and pursuing education, all of which fight against poverty.

Unclean water kills more people every year than warfare.
The toll of diseases stemming from contaminated water surpasses all forms of violence annually, including warfare. Children under five are on average 20 times more likely to die from illnesses linked to unsafe water and bad sanitation than from conflict.
